The city of Sirens
It is my second (and last) night in Dublin,
My cold is still giving me the shits, but is slowly receding, with enough drugs (thank God they still sell you Psuedoephedrine in Ireland) and Irish whiskey.
Had a general wander about on the first day, then hit Temple bar in the evening, which was jam packed to bursting. the majority of all the pubs were overflowing out onto the streets, yet still managed a couple of pints of the black gold.
Dublin is a lot more run down than I expected, lots of derelict buildings about and general disrepair. There always seems to be a siren blaring in the background Ambulance and police always rushing somewhere.
The following day I did the Jameson's factory and then the Guinness Storehouse
The Tour at the storehouse is pretty huge, with an awesome bar at the top of the building, with glass walls, giving 360' views over Dublin.
Am about to head out for a last couple of pints of Guinness before bed.
Picked the car up today and its off to Belfast in the morning.
Later!!

Cardiff
Hiya All, and Greetings from Dublin,
Since my last post, we Left Ben and Afsha & caught the train to Cardiff, where we met up with my cousin Dylan (& his Fiancee Gemma).
Dylan was able to score us some tickets to the Wales v Japan match. On the night we were swept along the roads in a sea of red, till we hit the stadium. The game was great, (which wales won of course). We were almost deafened every time Wales scored a try, as the crowd cheered in unison.

After the game was finished and won, we hit the bars, (a little too hard in fact) It seemed as soon as I finished one beer another was being thrust into my hand. after a mini hangover in the morning, we flew off to Dublin............................

Stonehenge
We are now staying with some friends (Ben & Afsha) in Reading (pronounced 'Redding').
they have both been so hospitable, and it has been great to catch up. (I cannot believe that Ben has been over here for 2 1/2 years!)
When we arrived they took us out to dinner at this 'Pie shop' in Reading. They had a Massive variety of home made pies to choose from, and they were delicious!!!.
Yesterday (Sun) we were taken for a drive to see Stonehenge, which is not too far away.
It is certainly interesting to actually see something in person, that you have always heard or read about.
I have picked up a bit of a cold, that is really giving me the shits. Hopefully will stomp it out quickly.
Just having a cruisy day around Reading today, with a lot of R&R.
Later. Si.
PS, don't forget to initial/sign your comments, so I know who is leaving them. Xo
Not happy Jan!!!
Bit of a bummer on Saturday just gone. I was just transferring my 'to date' photos to my flash drive, when the power went off at the Internet place (some workmen were renovating the shop and tripped a fuse), when the power returned, all of the photos from K.L and London were gone. :-(
Oh well will just have to make more 'Memories' to capture
We watched Aus' beat Wales in a local pub, and received a few lighthearted jeers from the locals (I think my wallabies jersey might have had something to do with it?.....).

THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS! ;-)
As I hit single digits, the excitement is beginning.
In exactly 9 days, I will be sitting in "Cattle Class", probably somewhere over central Australia, en route to K.L.
YAY!!

THE PLAN
This trip has been a long time in the making, it has been a while since I have had a good break, so here it comes!
We are planning a few definite Destinations / Dates on this trip, but will generally just go with the flow, fancy free.
As a rough guide, this is what we have put together as our "Hypothetical" journey: (I wonder how close we will end up???)
